Better Health & Living®: Web Component/Related Sites

The site is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Readers have access to over 450 articles, which can be found easily with an intuitive search engine. Archived back to 2006, every article can be printed, e-mailed, and commented on.

To ensure the website shows your newspaper's information (newspaper's logo, newspaper's local online advertising, and any other market-specific information), www.betterhealthandliving.com uses two methods of authentication: zip code and/or referring site.

The website can be accessed in three ways:

  1. Organic (linked from other sites)
  2. Organic (via search engine)
  3. Direct (user types the URL directly)

When you access the website directly from a link in the newspaper's website, all credentials are passed automatically to the Better Health & Living website, and all of your market's pertinent information is displayed. If the website is accessed directly, or in any other way that is not linked from your newspaper's website, the user is prompted for their zip code. This zip code will set a cookie in the user's browser with the right credentials for your newspaper's market.
