Better Health & Living®: Editor-In-Chief
Susan Flagg Godbey was named editor-in-chief of Better Health & Living®, America’s leading newspaper-delivered health magazine, in September of 2004.
Flagg Godbey is responsible for the day-to-day management of Better Health & Living® and its editorial direction and design. Since her appointment, she has assembled a team of award-winning editors and journalists to cover medical, lifestyle, and other topics for BHL readers. She maintains the magazine’s commitment to being the most authoritative and trusted source of practical health information in the country and is also responsible for its look, readability, feel, and focus.
Prior to joining BHL, Flagg Godbey was editorial creative director at Prevention. She was responsible for directing news coverage and helping redesign and modernize the 50-year-old publication; during her tenure, the magazine became the 11th largest publication in the country. While at Rodale, Inc., Flagg Godbey covered family and parenting, home health, psychology, weight loss, fitness, nutrition, and pet care topics for magazines, books, newsletters, and the Internet. She has also held positions as fashion editor and cover editor for national magazines.
Flagg Godbey graduated summa cum laude from the College of Arts & Architecture at Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She lives in Allentown, PA.
