Colleen Pierre, MS, RD, is the author of three books: Homemade Health, Kitchen Counter Cures, and The New Healing Foods. In 2007, she won the James Beard Nutrition Journalism Award. She has also been nutrition editor of Child, and her column, “Eating Well,” appeared in the The Baltimore Sun for 13 years. Colleen has been an aerobics instructor, marathon runner, and triathlete and now competes in ski racing and tennis.
